The Samsonite Essens 81 XL is a large hard-shell suitcase made of polypropylene, with a capacity of 140 litres. It measures H 81 x W 56 x D 34 cm and weighs 4.7 kg. It does not close with a zip, but with a fixed three-point closure with a TSA combination lock. Inside, there are two removable packing cubes. How does the three-point closure of the Essens 81 XL work?
Most suitcases close with a zip, but the Essens has fixed clip closures at three points. This securely closes the main compartment without a zip. The closure includes a combination lock with TSA function. Customs officials in the United States can open this lock without damaging the suitcase.

With a capacity of 140 litres, this is a spacious suitcase for a long trip. According to Samsonite, it is suitable for 25 kg of luggage or more. Two large packing cubes divide the space. You can adjust them or remove them completely. Before your flight, check how many kilos your ticket allows.
How do you roll and lift this large suitcase?
The suitcase rolls on four double wheels that absorb shocks. With the telescopic handle, you can easily pull it behind you or push it beside you. There is a handle on the top and on the side. Use these to lift it from the baggage carousel or into the car boot.
Material and care
The shell is made of polypropylene, of which 70% is recycled. The suitcase is made in Europe. Clean the outside with a damp cloth and mild soapy water, without abrasive cleaner. Then leave the suitcase open to dry at room temperature before storing it.
