Our origins: 1974, one product and a market stall
ByMetz was founded in 1974 under the name Metz Lederwaren. What started with selling just one type of product at the market has grown into a real family business with hundreds of different products in our range. That market mentality (honest advice, personal contact and quality at a sharp price) is still part of everything we do.
Three generations, one passion
Founder Dyan Metz is still just as active as he was in his younger years. As a result, no fewer than 3 generations are now active in this family business at the same time. This creates the ideal balance: years of experience and product knowledge combined with fresh ideas, new trends and modern service.
And honestly, we are always busy with our business and our customers, even birthdays cannot escape the topic. You can feel that commitment in our advice, our selection and the way we think along with you.

As part of the Metz family, ByMetz mainly focuses on top brands in the bags and luggage industry. From all the brands we offer, we choose the models ourselves. This gives us a wide range of exclusively beautiful, high-quality products and ensures that our customers always get the best value for their money.
We continuously update our collection and add new items every week to our range. This means we always stay close to the latest trends without losing sight of proven classics.
Markets & store: a unique combination
One half of the family at the market and the other half in the store: a unique combination in the Netherlands! Metz Lederwaren currently operates as a group at 12 different markets each week. This allows us to meet many customers in person, show them our products and think along with them right away.

Our markets are separate from the store and ByMetz. This means customers cannot contact us through ByMetz or our store about purchases made at the market.
Did you buy something at a market and do you have a question about it? We kindly ask you to return to the relevant market yourself, where you made the purchase. The team there can help you as quickly and effectively as possible.
