The Day & Eve by Go Dutch Label Open Step Stones Bracelet is a bracelet made of nickel-free stainless steel. The silver-coloured version is rhodium-plated and the gold-coloured version is 14k gold-plated. The material is colourfast and not sensitive to water. Available in Silver (stainless steel) and Gold (stainless steel).
The difference is in the top layer. Silver has a layer of rhodium on the stainless steel. Gold has a layer of 14k gold. The base is the same in both colours: nickel-free stainless steel. So you mainly choose by colour.
First look at what you already wear. If you mostly wear silver-coloured jewellery or a silver-coloured watch, Silver is the easiest match. If you often wear gold-coloured rings or earrings, Gold goes well with them. The buckle of your bag or belt can also help you choose.
Rhodium is a precious metal with a bright, white shine. Rhodium-plated means that a thin layer of this metal sits on the jewellery. This gives the silver-coloured Open Step Stones Bracelet a light, cool colour. So the bracelet is not made of solid silver.
There is always stainless steel under the top layer. Polish both colours with a soft, dry cloth. Let perfume, hairspray and cream soak in well before you put on the bracelet. Do not use silver polish or abrasive cleaners, because they can damage the top layer. After wearing, store the bracelet on its own in a pouch or box.
Are both colours of the Open Step Stones Bracelet nickel-free? Yes, the stainless steel is nickel-free in both Silver and Gold. If you have sensitive skin, always check for yourself how your skin reacts to a new piece.
How should you treat the Open Step Stones Bracelet around water? The material is not sensitive to water, so a splash is no problem. Pat the bracelet dry afterwards so that no marks remain.
