The Chabo Bags Shoulderbag Byron has a feature you rarely see in bags: a zip at the bottom lets you open the bag and make it wider. When zipped closed, it is a slim shoulder bag measuring 30 by 21 centimeters. Open it up and there is room for an extra layer of groceries, a book or your sports shirt.
A braided, knotted strap runs over the shoulder and gives the bag its distinctive character. You also get a long adjustable crossbody strap, so you can choose: wear it short over one shoulder for a neat look, or diagonally across your body when you want to keep your hands free.
The main compartment closes with a full-length zip. Inside, there are side pockets to keep your phone and cards from sliding to the bottom, while a separate zipped pocket at the back holds the things you need quickly. The leather is soft enough for the bag to hang flat when it is half full.
Thanks to its expandable base, the Byron works at the office as well as on Saturday: empty, it is modest in size, while full, it holds surprisingly much. Available in black, navy blue and chocolate.
