The American Tourister TA Luggage Belt TSA 70 mm is a polyester luggage strap with a TSA lock. The strap is 70 mm wide and 191 cm long. It keeps your suitcase securely closed and makes it easy to recognize on the baggage carousel. Available in Stoneblue Blue, Black/Grey, Pink Mauve, Navy Orange, Olive Lime and Iced Berry.
A suitcase can take quite a few knocks on the baggage carousel and during loading. A zip or clasp can then spring open under pressure. The strap fits tightly around your suitcase and keeps it securely closed. Its striking colour also lets you see immediately which suitcase is yours.
A TSA lock is a lock that US airport security, the TSA, can open with a special key. If your suitcase needs to be opened during a baggage check in the US, security can use that key. The strap does not need to be cut off. If you are not travelling to the US, the lock simply works as an additional closure.
The strap is 191 cm long. First measure the circumference of your suitcase where the strap will go. The circumference must not be greater than the length of the strap. Put the strap around your suitcase when it is packed and closed. This gives the tightest fit.
The strap is made of polyester. This is a strong fabric that absorbs little water. Remove dirt with a damp cloth and mild soapy water. Let the strap dry at room temperature before rolling it up and storing it.
Can you use the strap on a suitcase with its own lock? Yes, the strap goes around the outside of your suitcase and allows your suitcase's own lock to work normally. It provides extra security in addition to the existing closure.
